Braille bin stickers trialled for residents who are blind or have low vision
The council is trialling bin stickers with braille and raised letters that identify the general rubbish, recycling and FOGO bins by touch. They go on the bin lid.
What this means for you: Call Customer Service on 9243 8888 to request stickers; council officers can apply them when a bin is delivered, with your authorisation.

Lower speed limits on selected local streets from July
The council said new 30 km/h and 40 km/h limits would apply from July 2026 in selected streets, including near schools and in residential neighbourhoods, under its Transport Safety Strategy 2016–2026.

Budget 2026/27 adopted
The council adopted its Budget 2026/27 and 4-Year Capital Works Program 2026/27–2029/30 at its meeting on 29 June 2026. Highlights include $6.58 million for kindergarten redevelopments, $5.56 million for local roads and $1.60 million for tree planting.

Cr Rose Iser elected Mayor
The councillors elected Myrnong Ward councillor Rose Iser as Mayor, her first time in the role, with Cr Phil Burn as Deputy Mayor, both for a one-year term.
What this means for you: The councillors choose the Mayor and Deputy Mayor; the next vote is due around October–November 2026.
