Have your say: Celeste Reserve West playspace upgrade, Doncaster East
The council is seeking feedback on a concept design to upgrade the Celeste Reserve West playspace because of its age and condition: new play equipment, a concrete path, nature play, a picnic area and seating. The survey closes at 5pm on Monday 12 October 2026.

Have your say: Hampshire Reserve playspace upgrade, Doncaster
A concept design for the playspace at 22–26 Hampshire Road, Doncaster: an updated playground, a larger basketball court, a drinking fountain, seating and tree planting, funded in the 2026/27 open space capital works program. The survey closes at 5pm on Thursday 1 October 2026.
What this means for you: Comment on the design before it is finalised; the council will announce construction timing after that.

Survey open for a new 10-year Recreation Strategy
The council is developing a 10-year strategy to guide recreation facilities, programs and outdoor spaces, and is asking residents how they walk, cycle, play sport or use parks and pools. The survey runs from 14 September to 4pm on Monday 19 October 2026.

2026–27 budget endorsed: rates +2.75%, waste charge frozen
Councillors endorsed the 2026–27 Budget and 10 Year Financial Plan on 30 June 2026: a $164 million operating budget and a $69 million capital works program. Average general rates rise 2.75%, in line with the state cap, and the standard waste service charge stays at the 2025–26 level.

Cr Jim Grivas elected Mayor for 2025–26
The councillors unanimously elected Cr Jim Grivas (Ruffey Ward) as Mayor and Cr Deirdre Diamante (Tullamore Ward) as Deputy Mayor at the Annual Meeting of Council on 6 November 2025.
What this means for you: The councillors choose the Mayor each year. The next vote is at the Annual Meeting on 5 November 2026.
