The council's stated direction
Wyndham's direction is set by the Wyndham 2050 Community Vision and the Council Plan 2025–29, which also serves as the municipal public health and wellbeing plan. Each year it is carried out through the Annual Plan and Budget.
The Council Plan has four strategic areas: 'A Welcoming, Healthy and Resilient City', 'A Liveable City', 'A Clean and Green City' and 'Delivering for community'. The council reports progress each quarter in a Quarterly Community Report, and each year in its Annual Report.
The 2026–27 budget plans $178.5 million of capital works across 82 projects, including $60.5 million on roads and footpaths. Named projects include $15 million for the Leakes Road duplication (Tarneit Road to Derrimut Road), $5.5 million for the Soldiers Reserve pavilion upgrade and $3.293 million for the Riverwalk Community Centre (interim name).

Tarneit Road and Shaws Road intersection upgrade
Contract awarded Sep 2026; construction from Oct 2026A $10.8 million Connecting Wyndham project in Werribee: a duplicated intersection with new traffic lights, plus improved walking and cycling links.

Werribee South Boat Ramp upgrade
Works from 3 Aug 2026; completion expected late 2026A seventh launching lane, extended and realigned pontoons, all-abilities access and reconfigured parking. The council's news item gives $3.2 million, funded by the Victorian Government and delivered with the council; the 2026–27 budget lists $3.3 million. The ramp is closed during the works.

Universal food and garden organics (FOGO) service
2026–27The 2026–27 budget plans to introduce the universal FOGO service to all households, in line with Victorian Government standards, alongside Year 1 of the Waste and Litter Strategy action plan.

Recently delivered
Tarneit Road and Leakes Road intersection upgrade
Completed Aug 2026A $10.5 million upgrade that duplicated the intersection, installed new traffic lights and added on-road and off-road cycling lanes. The council says it is the third major project delivered through Connecting Wyndham.
