Mayor & councillors
Weddin Shire is an undivided (at-large) council: its nine councillors are elected across the whole shire — Grenfell, Bimbi, Caragabal, Greenethorpe, Quandialla and the surrounding rural districts — by proportional representation, rather than by ward. The councillors elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among themselves at the ordinary meeting held in September, and do so every two years (Weddin does not have a popularly elected mayor). Council ordinarily meets at 5pm on the third Thursday of each month in the Council Chambers at 73 Camp Street, Grenfell; meetings are open to the public and live-streamed where possible. Every councillor publishes a direct phone number and email address on the council's website.

Casual vacancies can change the makeup, and the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are re-elected by the councillors every two years in September, so the council's official page has the most current list.
