Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed in Narromine, Trangie or Tomingley — a pothole, a water leak, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through Council's official channel so it gets a tracking record. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
How to report it
- Report to the council (official)
- "Report it" online request form, or (02) 6889 9999The form covers roads, footpaths, stormwater, parks and reserves, playgrounds, trees, public bins, graffiti and vandalism, sewer chokes, water and meter leaks, stray and dead animals, noise and odour nuisance, food-outlet concerns and overgrown blocks. Council notes that requests made outside this system cannot be tracked.
- Urgent / after-hours emergencies
- (02) 6889 9999 — same numberCouncil's after-hours emergency service is for situations with a direct impact on public health and safety or on Council infrastructure: water main breaks, Council-side water meter leaks, sewer main chokes, fallen trees over a road, and stock on a main road or highway. A dog attack that is underway or where the dog is still at large goes to Narromine Police on 000.
- Missed bin
- Report to Council on (02) 6889 9999Council lists a missed bin service as a non-emergency — report it during business hours rather than through the after-hours line.
- Animal complaints
- Phone only — (02) 6889 9999Council asks that roaming or barking dogs, dog attacks, nuisance animals and stock on roads be telephoned through so they are registered immediately and passed to the Senior Ranger.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential Energy (13 20 80)Council's own Report It page directs street-light faults to Essential Energy, the electricity distributor for the Central West; report online or call 13 20 80.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
