Mayor & councillors

Casey has 12 councillors, one for each ward, elected in October 2024 for the 2024–2028 term. Voters don't elect the Mayor directly: the councillors choose one of themselves, normally for a one-year term. The current Mayor was elected in August 2026 to finish the 2025–26 mayoral term, and the next mayoral election is at the Annual Council Meeting on Tuesday 17 November 2026.

No by-elections or countbacksThe VEC lists no Casey by-election or countback since October 2024 (its most recent Casey entry is a 2017 countback). The VEC's list of Casey general elections goes from 2016 to 2024, and the council's honour board shows the previous councillors' terms ending in February 2020.

Your representatives

Want to raise something? Contacting your ward councillor or the mayor is one of the most direct ways to be heard between elections.

Victorian council ballot papers and results don't show party affiliation, so we don't label councillors. We list who holds office, with their council email addresses, and link to the council's councillor page and the election results. If a councillor's seat falls vacant, Casey's single-councillor wards fill it by a by-election, not a countback, as long as more than 6 months of the term remain. For the latest list, see the council's page or the VEC.
