The council's stated direction
Canada Bay's direction is set by 'Our Future 2036' (its Community Strategic Plan), delivered through a Delivery Program 2025–2029 and an annual Operational Plan — the council adopted a $205 million Operational Plan and Capital Works Budget for 2026–27.
The council delivers roads and footpaths, waste, libraries, parks and foreshore reserves, and development/planning services across a small, densely populated and fast-growing inner-Sydney LGA on the Parramatta River. Its Delivery Program is the elected council's statement of commitment for its term, and its finances are also shaped by an IPART-approved special rate variation running to 2026–27.
The 2026–27 Operational Plan and Capital Works Budget ($205M) funds a major upgrade of Five Dock Park (new amenities building, multi-use court, extra parking), upgrades at St Lukes Oval and Queen Elizabeth Park, and over $13.9M for road resurfacing, pothole repairs and footpath improvements.
