The council's stated direction
Wollongong's planning is set out in 'Our Wollongong Our Future': a long-term Community Strategic Plan, a 4-year Delivery Program 2025–2029 and an annual Operational Plan 2025–2026, backed by a Resourcing Strategy 2025–2035 that say what the council intends to do and fund.
The council delivers services across roads and infrastructure, waste, parks and natural areas, libraries and community facilities, and planning and city growth. Its Delivery Program is the elected council's statement of commitment for its term.
Its annual budget funds a substantial capital works program — for example, $87.8M of capital works was delivered in 2024–25 — across roads, buildings, stormwater and open space.
