West Wimmera Shire is unsubdivided: all five councillors are elected by, and represent, the whole Shire at the four-yearly Victorian council elections (last held in October 2024). The councillors elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among themselves each November at the council's annual statutory meeting.

Who represents you

Mayor
Cr Tim MeyerRe-elected at the council's annual statutory meeting in Edenhope, announced on 5 November 2025 — his fourth term as Mayor. First elected to the council in 2020. The council's Mayor and Councillors page says the Mayor is elected each year in November.
Deputy Mayor
Cr Helen HobbsElected Deputy Mayor in November 2025, her first term in the role. First elected to the council in 2024.
Councillors
5, elected Shire-wideCr Jodie Pretlove, Cr Tom Houlihan and Cr Richard Hicks, plus the Mayor and Deputy Mayor. All were declared elected on 7 November 2024 for a term to October 2028.
Next mayoral election
Wednesday 4 November 2026At the Annual Statutory Meeting in the Edenhope Council Chamber, from the council's 2026 meeting dates. Victorian mayors are elected by the councillors, not by voters.

Generally the third Wednesday of the month, at venues around the Shire (no meeting in January)Remaining 2026 dates: 21 October (Connewirricoo, with a community forum), 4 November (Annual Statutory Meeting, Edenhope), 18 November (Kaniva) and 16 December (Edenhope). Victorian council ballot papers and results don't show party affiliation, so we don't label councillors. We list who is in office and link to their official profiles and the election results. The council's Mayor and Councillors page also lists a mobile number for each councillor. The Victorian Electoral Commission's council page lists the same five councillors (checked September 2026; it gives Cr Hicks's full name as Richard William Hicks). A council's makeup can change between elections, so the official pages have the most current list.
