Report a problem to the council
Wentworth Shire Council does not run a general-purpose online reporting form. Its Customer Requests page asks residents to email or phone, and the main number is also the after-hours emergency line. Note the (03) area code — the council's phone numbers are Victorian-format, a practical consequence of the shire sitting opposite Mildura on the Murray. Below is where to send each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
How to report it
- Report to the council (official)
- Email council@wentworth.nsw.gov.au, or (03) 5027 5027The council's Customer Requests page states that all customer requests should be sent by email or telephoned through during business hours, and says more online and smartphone options are planned. The main phone number is also listed for emergency after-hours calls.
- Missed bin
- Contact the council if your bin has not been emptied by the morning after your collection dayThe same page covers stolen or damaged bins and requests for a replacement bin; a replacement fee may apply in some circumstances.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council or authority. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyThe council's own street-light page states that Essential Energy manages about 95% of street lights in NSW and links to its fault-reporting map.
- Illegal dumping
- Council's illegal dumping page, or the NSW EPA Environment Line 131 555Dumped rubbish on public land can be reported to the council; the EPA's line handles larger or hazardous dumping.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than email — the council's main number is answered for after-hours emergencies. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
