Mayor & councillors

Warrumbungle Shire is an undivided (at-large) council: its nine councillors are elected across the whole local government area by proportional representation, rather than by ward — so no town has its own guaranteed seat. The councillors elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among themselves (Warrumbungle does not have a popularly elected mayor); the Mayoral term is two years. The 2024 election was uncontested — exactly nine candidates nominated for nine positions, so no vote was held and all nine were declared elected on 14 September 2024. Party labels are those each councillor was elected under at the September 2024 election (NSW Electoral Commission) — because the Warrumbungle election was uncontested, the NSWEC declaration records a group code for only two of the nine (Kodi Brady and Jason Newton, both IND); the other seven carry no group code, so their affiliation is left blank here rather than guessed. Casual vacancies can change the makeup, so the council's official page has the most current list.
