Waste & recycling

Waste & recycling

When your bins go out, and how Tweed Shire handles recycling and bulky waste. Council contracts kerbside collection to Solo Resource Recovery. Urban houses and duplexes get three bins: a red-lid general-waste bin and yellow-lid recycling bin, both collected fortnightly (alternating weeks), plus a green-lid food-and-garden-organics (FOGO) bin collected weekly where the service is available. Units and rural properties get red and yellow bins as standard, with a green bin available on request if there's a service in the area. To find your collection day, enter your address on the council's bin collection days page.
