Mayor & councillors
Richmond Valley Council has seven councillors elected to represent the whole local government area — there are no wards or divisions. The Mayor is elected directly by voters on a separate ballot paper (a popularly elected Mayor), with the remaining councillors elected across the undivided area. Below is who currently holds office, with links to their official profiles and the September 2024 election results.

We list who's in office and link to their official profiles and the election results; we don't characterise anyone's politics. All seven councillors were elected as independents at the September 2024 election (NSW Electoral Commission). A council's makeup can change between elections through casual vacancies, so the council's official page has the most current list.
