Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council
Waste & recycling

Waste & recycling

When your bins go out, and how Queanbeyan-Palerang handles recycling and bulky waste. The council runs a kerbside service with a red-lid general-waste bin, a yellow-lid co-mingled recycling bin (240L, collected fortnightly), and a green-lid FOGO bin — Food Organics and Garden Organics — which takes food scraps as well as garden waste. In urban areas (Queanbeyan, Bungendore, Braidwood and Captains Flat) the council also runs a Kerbside Clean Up service for bulky household items. To find your collection days, use the council's waste pages and bin-day lookup.
