Report a problem to the council
Oberon Council does not run a category-by-category online reporting portal. The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole on a shire road, a water or sewer fault, dumped rubbish, stock on the road — is to phone Council during office hours, use the online enquiry form on its Contact Us page, or ring the after-hours number for anything urgent. Below is where each type of issue goes, plus an independent app that works for any council.
How to report it

- Urgent / after hours
- Roads, parks, water & sewer: 0428 698 036Council's published after-hours emergency line for its own infrastructure. For fire, police or ambulance call 000; for storm and flood damage call the SES on 132 500.
- Animals & livestock
- Dog & cat control (02) 6329 8153 · livestock control 0427 773 907Council publishes separate direct numbers for companion-animal and stock matters, including stock straying onto roads.
- Bins and waste
- (02) 6329 8100, or the Mobile Garbage Bin Application formDamaged or missing bins are replaced by Council's collection contractor at its own cost — complete Council's bin application form and email it to council@oberon.nsw.gov.au.

- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyEssential Energy is the electricity distributor for Oberon and the Central Tablelands; it owns and maintains the street-light network and takes fault reports online or on 13 20 80.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. The Great Western Highway and other state roads are managed by Transport for NSW, not Council. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
