Mayor & councillors

Narrandera Shire is an undivided (at-large) council: its nine councillors are elected across the whole local government area by proportional representation, rather than by ward. The councillors elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among themselves (Narrandera does not have a popularly elected mayor); the term in each office is two years, and the current Mayor and Deputy Mayor were elected to serve from October 2024 to October 2026. Ordinary council meetings are held at 2:00pm on the third Tuesday of the month in the Council Chambers at the Administration Building, 141 East Street, and are open to the public; public forums are sometimes held from 1:30pm beforehand.
