Major offences in Nambucca Valley vs the NSW rate, per 100,000 population, for the 12 months from April 2025 to March 2026. Source: BOCSAR LGA & NSW recorded-crime tables. 'vs NSW' = Nambucca Valley rate ÷ NSW rate.
Nambucca Valley is a small rural LGA (around 21,000 people), and BOCSAR reports recorded incidents per resident population without adjusting for visitors or the mix of the population; with small counts, a handful of extra incidents can move a per-100,000 rate a lot, so year-to-year figures are volatile and small differences shouldn't be over-read. These are recorded incidents, not convictions, and counts move with population and reporting. BOCSAR calculates rates only for these 'major offences', so high-volume justice offences (e.g. breach of bail or AVO) aren't rate-compared here.
