Waste & recycling

When your bins go out, and how Mosman Council handles recycling, garden waste and clean-ups. Council runs a user-pays garbage service (you choose an 80, 120 or 240-litre bin) collected weekly, a weekly kerbside recycling collection, and a garden-organics (green waste) collection once a month. The green service is garden organics only — Mosman doesn't yet run a combined food-and-garden (FOGO) service; in the meantime Council subsidises home-composting products to help residents keep food scraps out of landfill (the NSW-wide FOGO mandate is 2030). Council also collects bulky 'Clean Up' items twice a year, with extra collections bookable. To find your collection day, use the council's bin-collection lookup.
