The council's stated direction
Mosman Council's direction is set out in MOSPLAN — a 10-year Community Strategic Plan (2025–2035), a four-year Delivery Program (2025–2029) and an annual Operational Plan and budget, adopted in June 2025.
The council manages local roads, waste, libraries, parks, foreshores and planning across a compact, largely built-out harbourside LGA on the Lower North Shore. Its Delivery Program is the elected council's statement of commitment for its term.
MOSPLAN 2025–2035 bundles the Community Strategic Plan, Delivery Program 2025–2029, 2025–26 Operational Plan, Budget and Long Term Financial Plan; it was adopted after public exhibition in June 2025.

Mosman Masterplan — Military Rd / Spit Junction town centre & housing
Preferred plan endorsed by council 2026; subject to NSW Government sign-offA masterplan concentrating Mosman's future housing along the Spit Road / Military Road corridor and Spit Junction, with increased building heights on that spine while seeking to keep it out of residential and heritage streets. The plan requires NSW Government planning sign-off and remains under negotiation with the state.
Food-scraps composting subsidy (ahead of the 2030 FOGO mandate)
Ongoing; NSW FOGO mandate 2030While Mosman's green service remains garden-organics only, Council subsidises discounted home-composting products to help residents divert food scraps from landfill, in the lead-up to the NSW-wide requirement for household food-and-garden organics collection by 2030.
