Moree Plains Shire Council
A large rural council on the North West Slopes, straddling the Queensland border — around 12,816 people across Moree and towns and villages like Mungindi, Boggabilla, Pallamallawa and Ashley, on an economy of irrigated agriculture (cotton, grain, pulses), livestock and artesian-spa tourism. The council runs the local services you use every week — waste, water, roads, parks, aquatic facilities, development — and sets your rates. Here's the snapshot, then the stuff that affects your week.
