The council's stated direction
Mid-Western Regional Council's direction is set out in its Community Plan (Towards 2040) and a Delivery Program with an annual Operational Plan and budget, with current priorities around long-term water security, town-centre planning and community recreation facilities.
The council manages local roads, water and sewer, waste, libraries, parks, saleyards, tourism and planning across a large Central West LGA anchored by Mudgee and taking in Gulgong, Rylstone and Kandos. Its Delivery Program is the elected council's statement of commitment for its term.
The Delivery Program funds the council's annual capital works program. Current priorities include a joint water-security study for Mudgee and Gulgong, a long-term Mudgee Town Centre Growth Strategy and Master Plan, and revived design work for a proposed Mudgee indoor pool.
