Area profile
A quick snapshot of Mansfield Shire, in Victoria's High Country in the state's north east. Mansfield is the main town and the council's seat; smaller towns and settlements include Bonnie Doon, Goughs Bay, Macs Cove, Jamieson, Merrijig, Maindample, Tolmie and Woods Point. The council describes the Shire as the gateway to the Mt Buller and Mt Stirling alpine resorts and the Alpine National Park, with Lake Eildon on its western side. The council acknowledges the Taungurung people as the Traditional Owners of the land.
