The council's stated direction
Maitland's direction is set out in its Community Strategic Plan ('Maitland's Future'), a Delivery Program 2025–2029 and an Operational Plan & Budget 2026–27, with over $224M of planned spend including about $56M of capital works.
The council delivers roads, waste, libraries, recreation, planning and major civic projects across a fast-growing Lower Hunter river city. Its Delivery Program is the elected council's statement of commitment for its term.
