Waste & recycling

When your bins go out, and how Leeton Shire handles recycling and waste across Leeton, Yanco, Whitton, Wamoon, Stanbridge and Murrami. Council runs a three-bin kerbside service to eligible households: a green-lidded food-and-garden-organics (FOGO) bin collected weekly, and a red-lidded general-waste bin and yellow-lidded recycling bin collected on alternating weeks (so each is fortnightly, on the same day as the green bin). The FOGO service — rolled out from 1 July 2024 — won the council a 2025 Local Government NSW Environment Award. To find your exact collection day, use the council's bin-collection lookup tool below.
