Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole on one of the shire's 4,000 km of roads, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through council's official channel. Council notes that with over 4,000 km of roads (about 1,000 km of them sealed) it often will not know about a problem until a road user reports it, so reporting genuinely matters here. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
How to report it

- After-hours emergencies
- (02) 6895 1900Council publishes the same number for after-hours emergencies. For life-threatening emergencies call 000; NSW Rural Fire Service 1800 679 737; NSW State Emergency Service 13 25 00.
- Missed bin
- (02) 6895 1900 or council@lachlan.nsw.gov.auCouncil asks that you contact it if your bin has not been serviced by 3.00pm on your collection day. Bin repairs, replacements and missing or stolen bins go to the same number.

- Not always the council's job

- Road closures and flooding
- Live Traffic NSWCouncil points road users to Live Traffic NSW for closures caused by flooding, accidents or roadworks. Council also warns that unsealed roads in the shire are not all-weather roads and can become impassable when wet.
