Mayor & councillors

Lachlan Shire is divided into five wards — A, B, C, D and E — with two councillors elected from each, making ten in all. The councillors elect the Mayor and Deputy Mayor from among themselves at the September Ordinary Meeting every two years; Lachlan does not have a popularly elected mayor. Council meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month in the Condobolin Council Chambers. Below is who currently holds office, with links to their official profiles and the September 2024 election results.

Want to raise something? Contacting your ward councillor or the mayor is one of the most direct ways to be heard between elections.

We list who's in office and link to their official profiles and the election results; we don't characterise anyone's politics. Party labels are those each councillor was elected under at the September 2024 election (NSW Electoral Commission) — the NSWEC declarations show an Independent (IND) group code for seven of the ten seats. Three are left blank rather than guessed: the NSWEC declaration for Robyn Turner (Ward D) carries no group code; the Ward C declaration likewise carries no group code for the second seat, which the NSWEC recorded under the name Juanita Wighton and council's current page lists as Cr Juanita Coleman; and Judith Bartholomew was declared elected at the uncontested Ward E by-election of 24 October 2024, for which the NSWEC did not publish a party label. Casual vacancies can change the makeup, so the council's official page has the most current list.
