Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channel. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Customer service: (02) 9424 0000General enquiries and the online 'Report an issue' portal — covers missed bins, dumping, potholes, abandoned vehicles, fallen trees and graffiti, each with a tracked request.
- Illegal dumping
- Report to the council / NSW EPA (RIDonline)
- Urgent or after-hours matters
- callcentre@krg.nsw.gov.au or (02) 9424 0000The main line is covered by an after-hours answering service; there's no separate published 24/7 hazard number.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Ausgrid (24-hour line 1800 044 808)Ausgrid owns and maintains Ku-ring-gai's street lights on the council's behalf, except lights on council land such as parks and ovals.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
