Waste & recycling
When your bins go out, and how Kempsey Shire Council handles recycling and organics. Every household on the service has a three-bin kerbside system: a red-lid general-waste bin, a yellow-lid recycling bin, and a green-lid food-and-garden organics (FOGO) bin that takes both food scraps and garden waste. The council asks residents to put the green FOGO bin out every week; the red and yellow bins are collected on the council's alternating Week A / Week B calendar. Larger household loads and problem waste go to the Waste Management Centre on Crescent Head Road, with transfer stations at South West Rocks, Stuarts Point and Bellbrook. To find your collection day, use the council's address lookup.
