Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channel. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Customer service: (02) 6728 8288Or use the online request/report forms on the council website, or email council@inverell.nsw.gov.au.
- Bin problems
- (02) 6728 8288Missed bins and other waste-service issues; you can also email council@inverell.nsw.gov.au.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyIn the New England region, Essential Energy is the electricity distributor that maintains street lighting; the council reports faults to them.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority. Street lighting in the New England region is maintained by Essential Energy (the electricity distributor), so those faults are ultimately fixed by the distributor.
