Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channel. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Online 'Report an issue / request a service' form, or call 02 9392 5000Covers potholes, footpaths, dumped rubbish, graffiti, blocked drains and abandoned vehicles.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveInner West links to Snap Send Solve as one way to report; an independent app that routes your report to the responsible council.
- Illegal dumping
- Report to the council / NSW EPA (RIDonline)
- Emergencies
- Call 000For life-threatening situations. For state emergencies (storm/flood damage) call the SES on 132 500.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → AusgridAusgrid owns and maintains most streetlights in the Inner West on councils' behalf; report via Ausgrid's streetlight map.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
