Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, graffiti, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channels. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report an issue (official online portal)
- CityWatch e-request form, or email hsc@hornsby.nsw.gov.auCovers roads, footpaths, parks and most local issues.
- Roads & potholes (Council roads)
- Report via 'Report an Issue', email, or phone (02) 9847 6666Transport for NSW roads (state roads/highways) are reported to TfNSW on 131 700, not the council.
- Waste & illegal dumping
- Report Illegal Dumping (online form); Waste Hotline 13 70 30
- Vandalism & graffiti
- Graffiti Hotline 1800 199 282Council aims to remove graffiti from its own property within 48 hours of a report.
- Public hazards & nuisances
- See the council's Public Hazards and Nuisances hub for noise, overgrown land and more
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
For urgent safety hazards, call the council rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority. Some assets aren't the council's job — for example, state roads and highways are TfNSW's responsibility.
