Report a problem to the council

The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, graffiti, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channels. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.

Report an issue (official online portal)
CityWatch e-request form, or email hsc@hornsby.nsw.gov.auCovers roads, footpaths, parks and most local issues.
Roads & potholes (Council roads)
Report via 'Report an Issue', email, or phone (02) 9847 6666Transport for NSW roads (state roads/highways) are reported to TfNSW on 131 700, not the council.
Waste & illegal dumping
Report Illegal Dumping (online form); Waste Hotline 13 70 30
Vandalism & graffiti
Graffiti Hotline 1800 199 282Council aims to remove graffiti from its own property within 48 hours of a report.
Public hazards & nuisances
See the council's Public Hazards and Nuisances hub for noise, overgrown land and more
One app for any council
Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.

For urgent safety hazards, call the council rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority. Some assets aren't the council's job — for example, state roads and highways are TfNSW's responsibility.
