Mayor & councillors

Frankston has 9 councillors, one for each ward: Ballam, Centenary Park, Derinya, Elisabeth Murdoch, Kananook, Lyrebird, Pines, Wilton and Yamala. All 9 were elected in October 2024 for the 2024–2028 term, and the VEC lists the same 9 today. Voters don't elect the Mayor directly. The councillors choose one of themselves, for a 1-year term this time. Cr Sue Baker was elected Mayor at the Council Meeting of 10 December 2025.

Your representatives

Want to raise something? Contacting your ward councillor or the mayor is one of the most direct ways to be heard between elections.

Victorian council ballot papers and results don't show party affiliation, so we don't label councillors. We list who holds office, with the council email addresses published on their official profiles, and link to the election results. The council asks that day-to-day operational matters go to info@frankston.vic.gov.au rather than to councillors. If a seat falls vacant, Frankston's single-councillor wards fill it by a by-election, not a countback, as long as more than 6 months of the term remain. For the latest list, see the council's page or the VEC.
