Waste & recycling
When your bins go out, and how Dubbo Regional Council handles recycling and bulky waste. The council runs a three-bin kerbside service to the urban areas of Dubbo, Wellington, Geurie, Wongarbon and Brocklehurst: a green-lid FOGO (food organics and garden organics) bin collected weekly, a red-lid general-waste bin collected weekly, and a yellow-lid recycling bin collected fortnightly. Because the green bin already takes both food and garden waste, Dubbo is ahead of the NSW-wide FOGO mandate (required for all households by 2030). Households on a two- or three-bin service can also pre-book one bulky-waste collection each financial year. To find your collection day, use the council's waste service lookup.
