Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channel, where it goes to the right team. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Submit a report online, or call (02) 8757 9000The council's online 'Report and Request' hub covers roads, parks, planning and other issues.
- Missed or damaged bin
- Report a missed bin service online, or call (02) 8757 9000
- Illegal dumping
- Report illegally dumped rubbish onlineCouncil targets a 24-hour response; fines can apply to those responsible (up to $4,000 for individuals, $8,000 for organisations).
- Urgent or after-hours hazard
- Call (02) 8757 9000For life-threatening emergencies call 000.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council; also promoted on the council's own site. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → the local electricity network operator (Endeavour Energy in this area)The council maintains the pole; the network operator fixes the light itself.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
