Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin, illegal camping — is to lodge it through the council's official channel. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Customer service: (02) 6626 7000Or use the online 'Report it to Council' form for potholes, bin issues, illegal camping, abandoned vehicles and more.
- Urgent / after hours
- (02) 6622 7022For urgent problems such as dog attacks, blocked sewers or no water outside office hours.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyIn the Northern Rivers, street lighting is on the Essential Energy network; the distributor fixes the light itself.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
