City profile
Boroondara is a municipality in Melbourne's inner east, running from Kew and Hawthorn by the Yarra River to Balwyn North, Surrey Hills and Ashburton. Its main office is at 8 Inglesby Road, Camberwell. The council says the name comes from the Woi-wurrung language and means 'where the ground is thickly shaded'.

These are the suburbs the CSA lists for Boroondara. We checked each against the official Vicmap locality boundaries: Glen Iris (about two-thirds inside Boroondara) and Surrey Hills (about three-fifths) are split with neighbouring councils, and only a small part of Mont Albert (about 4%) is in Boroondara.
