Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed in Blayney, Millthorpe, Carcoar or any of the villages — a pothole, a blocked table drain, a damaged footpath, a missed bin — is to lodge it through Council's official channel. Blayney publishes separate after-hours numbers for different kinds of hazard rather than one general emergency line, so the list below matters if something goes wrong outside office hours.
How to report it
- Report to the council (official)
- Customer Request Form (online), or (02) 6368 2104Council's online Customer Request Form covers Council assets — footpaths, roads, potholes, community facilities and similar. The Customer Experience Team answers the phone Monday to Friday, 9.30am–4.00pm.
- After hours — roads & bridges, public amenities
- 0409 307 041For major road or bridge hazards needing traffic control or a road closure (fallen trees, flooding), major damage to infrastructure, and health or safety hazards or blockages at public toilets. Non-urgent reports should go through the online form instead.
- After hours — sewer
- 0437 962 505For overflowing manholes and blockages outside a building. Council publishes a diagram showing which side of the boundary is its responsibility.
- Storm & flood emergencies
- NSW SES 132 500In any life-threatening emergency call Triple Zero (000) first.
- Animals after hours
- NSW Police (Blayney) 6368 9599For stray stock on main roads and serious dog attacks outside business hours, Police liaise with Council's Ranger. All other animal matters, including stray dogs and cats, are business hours only.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyEssential Energy is the electricity distributor across the Central West, and it maintains and repairs the street-light network on behalf of councils in its area.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority. Council also publishes a separate Report Wrongdoing channel for public interest disclosures, which is not the right channel for everyday maintenance issues.
