Report a problem to the council
The quickest way to get something fixed — a pothole, dumped rubbish, a missed bin — is to lodge it through the council's official channel. Below is where to report each type of issue, plus an independent app that works for any council.
- Report to the council (official)
- Customer service: (02) 6499 2222Or use the online request/contact forms on the council website; email council@begavalley.nsw.gov.au. The number is answered 24/7 for emergencies.
- Bin problems
- (02) 6499 2222Missed bins and other waste-service issues go through the same customer service line, or the Bega Valley Waste app.
- One app for any council
- Snap Send SolveAn independent app that routes your report to the responsible council. Not run by the council.
- Not always the council's job
- Faulty street lights → Essential EnergyOn the Far South Coast the electricity distributor is Essential Energy; the council maintains the pole, the distributor fixes the light itself.
For urgent safety hazards, call rather than filling in a form. Snap Send Solve is an independent third-party app (not run by the council) that routes your report to the responsible authority.
