Waste & recycling
When your bins go out, and how Bayside handles recycling and bulky waste. The council runs a three-bin kerbside service: a red-lid general-waste bin collected weekly, a yellow-lid recycling bin collected fortnightly, and a green-lid garden-organics bin collected fortnightly. The green bin is garden-organics only for now — Bayside says it is transitioning to a combined food-and-garden (FOGO) service ahead of the NSW Government's 2030 mandate, though it hasn't set a start date yet. Collection zones vary by street, so to find your collection day use the council's Waste Services app or the printed calendar mailed to your address.
