Waste & recycling

When your bins go out, and how Bathurst Regional Council handles recycling and organics. The council runs a three-bin kerbside service: a green-lid FOGO (food organics and garden organics) bin collected weekly, plus a red-lid general-waste bin and a yellow-lid recycling bin collected on alternating fortnights. Because the green bin already takes both food and garden waste, Bathurst is ahead of the NSW-wide FOGO mandate (required for all households by 2030). To find your collection day and which week your red and yellow bins go out, use the council's waste collection lookup.
