Waste & recycling
When your bins go out, and how Armidale Regional Council handles recycling and organics. The council runs a distinctive kerbside service: a 140-litre red-lid landfill-waste bin collected weekly; a 240-litre green-lid 'City2Soil' organics bin that accepts both food and garden waste (a combined FOGO service) collected fortnightly; and — instead of a yellow-lid recycling wheelie bin — two 55-litre black recycling crates (one for cardboard, one for other recyclables) put out each week. There's no on-call bulky-waste kerbside pickup: material that won't fit in your bins is taken to the Armidale Waste Management Facility for disposal under the council's standard fees. To find your collection day, use the council's waste collection calendar / collection map.
